First Regional Centres of Western Balkan Companies in the UAE by the end of the year
Companies operating in the area of water treatment, machine building industry, agriculture, solar energy and information technology are already negotiating with representatives of the Free Zones of Dubai and Abu Dhabi on starting up their business operations in the United Arab Emirates. The first regional centres can be expected to be opened by the end of the year, Marko Selakovic, Head of the Office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) in Dubai, announced.
The recently signed agreements between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and UAE Free Zones provides companies and businessmen both from Serbia and the Western Balkan Region with the opportunities to establish individually and under preferential conditions their affiliates within the free zones. They are provided with fast procedures for starting up a company, with minimum and substantially reduced costs, as well as with the support of commercial banks, experts and complete logistics for starting up a business as efficient as possible.
The Office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in Dubai, which started operating two months ago, gives the opportunity to businessmen to directly network with concrete business partners, and supports them in getting information on the market and business conditions in the Emirates, as well as in placing their products and services not only on this one, but also on the markets of the Near East, Africa and India. The United Arab Emirates are the global business and logistics centre, which ensures easier business operating in the markets covering 4.5 billion consumers, Selakovic reminded.
“It is particularly significant that companies will have a support of the free zones in fast realization of cargo and logistics procedures. In addition, companies can become a part of the specialized clusters, or use services of incubators and development centres within the free zones, with which the agreements have been signed. Some of these centres, particularly in the area of information technology, aviation and food production and processing, are among the leading ones in the world, Selakovic explained.
Earlier this week, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the WB6 President of the Managing Board, Marko Cadez, signed the Agreements on cooperation with the Dubai Free Zone Council and Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi, which ensures a platform for companies from Serbia and the Western Balkans for their further development and investments towards global markets. During his visit, the meetings were held with President of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hamad Buamim, Head of the Strategic Committee of the Dubai Free Zone Council, Juma Al Matrooshi, Director of Abu Dhabi Ports, Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, as well as with numerous businessmen.
