CE Marking platform Training in Sarajevo
On November 28, 2024, at the premises of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the dedicated training session on the presentation of the CE Marking platform was held.
This training was organized by the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with Western Balkans 6 Chamber Investment Forum (WB6 CIF) and with the support of the European Commission and was attended by over 20 participants.
The training was expertly led by Ms. Natalija Jovičić Zarić, Head of Management Systems at Simplify outsourcing d.o.o. and supported by Ms. Tijana Muhamedagić, Secretary of the Food Processing Industry Association at the Economy Department at the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina and member of the Thematic Group on Quality Infrastructure.
The CE Marking platform is an online application created to help manufacturers from WB6 economies to identify which European New Approach Directives are potentially applied on their products, using a set of questionnaires.
During the training session, the platform’s functionalities were explained, along with the benefits it offers in supporting SMEs from the WB6 economies by providing complete, clear, and reliable information and guidance on the compliance of their products with the regulations and rules for CE marking.
It was emphasized during the presentation that the “CE Marking platform” is a unique informational tool primarily for companies involved in the manufacturing of industrial products at the regional level, as well as for institutions, consulting firms, and others.
“Every manufacturer, regardless of whether they are within or outside the EU, can affix the CE mark to their product, but they must follow the appropriate conformity assessment procedure,” said Ms. Jovičić Zarić, highlighting the manufacturer’s responsibility throughout the process.
The training concluded with a question-and-answer session.
This activity was organized within the framework of the Project: “EU support to WB6 CIF for the Development of a Common Regional Market.”
